My Corn is Blue brings us to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and to Chef Gustavo Romero. At its center is corn: heritage, memory, identity.
For Gustavo, that ingredient became the foundation of Nixta. Then Nixta became something larger; a gathering place for the community around it.
Minneapolis has been tested again and again, from the murder of George Floyd to ICE raids targeting immigrant communities. Through it all, the city changed. Nixta changed with it.
Both continued to stand.

Beginning with the food and following it back to its source, the series argues that the clearest evidence of what immigrants bring to this country is found on a plate.
